Search engine optimization is not really difficult when you think about it.
All you need to do is to add the right title to your pages, use the h1 tag, and add your keyword several times in your web page. Then, make sure that you get a lot of links pointing back to your page, and wait for Google, MSN and Yahoo to send you buyers and subscribers. It's not a rocket science.

I think that the hardest part is to keep your rankings. With all the affiliates competing against you to promote the same product, it can be really difficult to stay at the top.
Here is what I do to stay at the top:
1. I make sure that I add new pages to my website and get link towards them from authority sites (think about Squidoo, EZA, social bookmarking)
2. I update my pages at least once every 2 months (my money pages, the one I want to rank for)
3. I put a blog on a folder of my site
4. I comment on other blogs
Here you have it, this is my complete strategy to keep my rankings and make affiliate sales on autopilot.
Once you make some cash, make sure to re-invest your profits to make more money from your cpa affiliate marketing efforts.
